This portfolio is a representation of who I am – an energetic, creative individual who enjoys learning and applying that new knowledge to help people. I am committed to developing my nursing praxis, one which reflects a holistic approach to caring and is deeply grounded in Watson’s Theory of Human Caring. Furthermore, I believe that we, as nurses, wield enormous power through the act of caring, a style of caring that takes us back to the days of Florence Nightingale. She was a woman before her time who knew that caring is the cornerstone of nursing and has a positive impact on the health and well-being of our patients.
And what nursing has to do in either case, is to put the patient in the best condition for nature to act upon him.
